Artwork Description:Tulips were introduced to Holland in the 16th Century as an import from the present day Turkey where they were cultivated as early as 1055 yet tulips did originate in Central Asia.
Tulip became extremely popular within the wealthier sect of Holland. A display of tulips on one’s windowsill became a sign of success and abundance. Tulips come in vast spectrum of colours each colour having its unique meaning.

Red tulip symbolises “True Love”.
